Diary - 231108

After an entire night spent working on our resumes with my wife, restructuring the content of our autobiographies and meticulously refining our wording, we finally took a break around 2 AM and hurried upstairs to bed. Surprisingly, my emotions remained heightened. Despite my exhaustion, I couldn't fall asleep until around 8 AM. Eventually, I had to go downstairs, open my computer, and review the documents repeatedly. Finally, I successfully submitted my first application form. I believe I will always remember that EVA Air was the first airline I applied to as a trainee pilot. I am genuinely grateful for my wife's dedicated help; she was exhausted, so I allowed her to sleep a little longer.

At 10 AM, I learned about the government's site inspection schedule. My wife went out to participate in public affairs, leaving me at home to organize the application materials for STARLUX Airlines. I discovered that STARLUX had five additional questions, including "What are your expectations for STARLUX?" and "What qualities do you think a pilot should possess?" Answering these questions was challenging for me, especially after a week of sleep deprivation. This experience taught me the importance of adequate rest, proper nutrition, and regular exercise to maintain good health.

When my wife returned, we enjoyed breakfast together, taking our time to complete and submit the application form for STARLUX Airlines. I realized that submitting resumes requires full concentration; it's truly not an easy task! After submitting applications to two airlines, we immediately went to the Aero Medical Center for an initial vision check, a requirement for all three airlines. There, I found out that the center's standards are quite strict. I need to pay special attention to my weight for the upcoming medical examination.

Once the medical check was over, it was time for our afternoon tea. We visited Jouer Café in Songshan, where we ordered two bowls of pasta. The taste wasn't exceptional, but the portions were large enough to make us full before bedtime! While sitting in the café, we noticed three engineers next to us discussing website planning. One of them seemed to have been working since 2007 and had extensive software development experience. Besides being an engineer, he also knew how to communicate with clients effectively, making him a true professional in business. It's amazing how Taipei is filled with talented and capable people! After our tea break, we headed back to Jiaoxi to visit the Jiuding Temple, where we prayed for successful applications to all three airlines and a better life for my wife and me, free from any constraints.

Upon returning to Chilidan, I felt extremely tired. After exchanging a few words with my parents, I took a short 20-minute nap on the couch. I woke up and continued to enter data, finally submitting the application form for China Airlines. I breathed a sigh of relief, ending a fulfilling day.

Reflecting on this week, it has been incredibly enriching. It all started with Auntie's referral to the headhunting company led by Addy. Since then, we have been continuously preparing our resumes and contemplating how to present the best versions of ourselves to others. I think this process is also a reflection on our lives. From anxiety and nervousness to the profound inspiration we gained, it has been an incredible life journey. I genuinely feel the gears of life starting to turn, with interlocking teeth weaving through my mind. I am grateful for everything and everyone that has helped my wife and me.
